Rock and Roll Marathon is coming back up again and I am running it. Usually runners try to improve on their times, always working on a PR or personal record. Not me. I am running in the same shoes I used last year and my feet hurt, shoes are worn out, and I have trained far less.
I have done one long run, 17.5 miles about a week ago, and there are 14 days until the race from today....I have run a total of 35 miles in preparation. Not ideal. But oddly I feel good about it. How bad could it be?
My split times for my long run (which is still 9 miles shy of the goal distance) are not good either....11.5 minute miles. Maybe I should just walk at that rate. Some good/old friends are joining me on race day and their is the unspoken understanding that it would be ok to just follow the split off for the half when that happens.....more time at the beer tent Alaina has said....
